Dale Smith has been owner of three, separate, very successful businesses during his life; each started practically from nothing.
At the age of 22, he started a business in his garage with an investment of only in an old $180.00 truck. He formed Midwest Co. Inc. Five years later he had 44 employees and was doing business in four states. After he took this business to the top, he sold it and with some of the profits, opened a private club called The Par Five Club.
He rented a large building, remodeled it and invited congressmen, senators, local officials and professional ball players to a grand opening. After it was up and successful, he sold it and moved to California.
A business opportunity soon opened up. A fence company founded in 1949 had been run down to almost nothing and was up for sale. He saw a potential that no one else saw, and trusting his skills at running a business, he bought it in 1978. Twenty-eight years later, he sold it to enjoy a very comfortable retirement.
Dale lives a comfortable life in a gated community on a golf course in the winter months in La Quinta and in San Diego in the summer. Dale loves to travel, golf, read, ride his motorcycles, boat, fish, and dine out.
Dale and John realize they have been very fortunate in life and understand these are very trying times. So they went into business together with the intent to give back what they have learned and gained through many successful years in business.
